Custom Tension Canopy Roof for a Large Campervan

At Shadeland, every project is a little different, and this custom tension canopy roof was designed specifically to provide reliable protection for the homeowner’s large campervan while allowing plenty of additional height and clearance.

Designed Around the Campervan

With a larger campervan to accommodate, a standard height canopy wasn’t going to work. We designed the structure with extra height and generous clearance, making it easy for the homeowner to park the camper underneath while still achieving great coverage from the Northland weather.

The result is a purpose built campervan shelter that combines functionality with a clean, modern finish.

Strong, Structurally Secure Installation

With a canopy of this size and height, creating a strong and secure structure was essential.

One side of the tension canopy was structurally attached to the house, while the opposite side was supported by heavy duty structural posts securely fixed into the concrete. This created a solid framework designed to properly support and tension the canopy roof.

Careful planning of the fixing points and structure ensures the canopy remains strong while maintaining the open space needed for easy access around the campervan.

Managing the Waterflow

Good water management is an important part of any canopy installation.

We incorporated a gutter and downpipe system into the design to collect rainwater from the canopy and direct it away from the covered area. This helps keep the space underneath cleaner and drier while providing a tidy, integrated finish.

Powder Coated to Match the Home

A large campervan canopy naturally becomes a noticeable feature of the property, so getting the appearance right was just as important as making it functional.

The aluminium framework was powder coated to match the existing house, helping the new structure blend naturally with the property rather than looking like an addition.

To finish everything off, we installed a beautiful white tensioned canopy cover. The light colour gives the structure a fresh, modern appearance and works perfectly alongside the matching framework and existing home.

A Purpose Built Campervan Cover

The finished canopy provides the homeowner with a spacious, strong and attractive shelter for their campervan, offering protection from the elements without compromising on vehicle clearance or the overall look of the property.

From the additional height and structural posts through to the guttering, downpipe and colour-matched finish, every part of this project was designed around the homeowner and their campervan.

If you’re looking for a custom campervan cover, tension canopy or outdoor shelter in Northland, Shadeland can design a solution around your property, vehicle and available space.
