Creating a Cool Break Space in Kerikeri

Just five minutes from our Shadeland workshop in Kerikeri, a local commercial client reached out with a familiar issue: their outdoor staff break area was unusable during the heat of the day. With no clear idea of how to fix the problem, they turned to us for a solution and we were more than happy to help.

The challenge was to provide reliable, all day sun protection for the designated tea and lunch break area. It needed to be practical, durable, and comfortable, without disrupting the existing site layout. After assessing the space, we designed a custom setup using a Shadeland Classic Blind paired with a tensioned shade sail mounted on poles. This combination offered both vertical and overhead shade, shielding workers from the harsh midday sun while still keeping the area open and airy.

Once we had the plan in place, our team got to work. The installation included securely setting the sail poles and fitting the blind for smooth operation and maximum coverage. The result? A welcoming, shaded outdoor space where staff can relax and recharge comfortably throughout the day.
