Clear Ziptrak Blinds Create All-Weather Protection for a Kerikeri Inlet Home

When you have a large deck overlooking Kerikeri Inlet, you want to be able to enjoy it in more than just perfect weather. For this new build, exposure to north-westerly wind and rain meant the outdoor area needed some practical protection.

Well-known Kerikeri architect Garth Dobney was managing the build from plans through to completion and approached Shadeland looking for a solution. After visiting the site, we recommended clear PVC Ziptrak blinds to provide weather protection without taking away from the home's outlook.

With some sizeable openings to cover, ease of use was an important consideration for the older homeowners. We designed the installation with centre posts to split the larger openings, keeping each blind manageable and straightforward to operate.

The clear PVC was a great fit for the setting, providing a barrier against wind and rain while maintaining the open feel and views from the deck.

There's still a larger opening across the front of the outdoor area, and we have a feeling we may be back to complete that section with the same Ziptrak solution in the future.
