A Fast-Tracked Shade Solution for OneSchool in Kerikeri

Sometimes a project is all about timing, and this shade sail installation for OneSchool in Kerikeri was a great example of what can be achieved when everyone works together.

Located just five minutes from our Kerikeri office, the school had a new concrete pad scheduled to be poured and needed a shade solution put in place quickly. The important part was getting the shade sail poles installed before the concrete went down, which meant there wasn't much room in the programme for delays.

Once the project was confirmed, OneSchool, Advance Build and our Shadeland team worked together to get a plan in place.

Within a week, we had the shade sail poles installed on site — completing this stage the day before the concrete was due to be poured. Getting the poles in at the right time meant the building work could continue as planned without the shade installation holding up the rest of the project.

Once the new concrete had set, our team returned to site to take the final measurements for the custom shade sails. The sails were then ordered and, just one week later, were ready to install.

From confirmation through to the completed shade sails, the entire project was turned around in approximately two weeks.

It was a particularly satisfying result given the tight timeframe. The finished sails look great, provide effective shade across the new outdoor area and fit neatly with the space created for the school.

This Kerikeri project also shows the value of getting Shadeland involved early when concrete work or other construction is planned. By coordinating the pole positions and installation with the concrete pour, we were able to keep everything moving and deliver the shade solution without unnecessary delays.
