A Shady Solution in Bream Bay: Maxine’s Dual Umbrella Setup

Step 1
As with every Shadeland product, a free quote and consultation was how Maxine decided on this unique double umbrella to provide some much-needed shade for her deck in the beautiful Bream Bay area.

After a visit from the sales team and a few quick measurements, a plan was made to utilise this wonderful product in the space available. Maxine wanted some shade on her deck and to help keep the heat out of the sliding doors at the back of the house. She didn’t want the space to be permanently shaded or have anything interfere with her deck area.

So, the plan was made to mount the umbrella at the end of the decking, underneath the trees. This wouldn’t take up any of the space on the deck and would allow for plenty of shade, as the umbrellas can go up and down as needed.

Step 2
After all the plans were made, it was time to get in contact with our suppliers at ShadowSpec to get things rolling. As usual, a quick turnaround with manufacturing had us ready to install in just a few weeks—perfect timing to give our customer the summer shade she was looking for.

We scheduled an install date and picked up the final few bits needed for the installation.

Step 3
The install date arrived, and the team headed out to begin the work. Upon arrival, a check-in was completed to explain the steps that would take place throughout the process.

First up was removing some of the decking so we could fully support underneath the position where the umbrella would be installed. Some carefully removed decking and a few timber nogs took care of that. The decking was reinstalled like it had never been moved!

Step 4
Now we were ready to install the umbrella! After some levelling, shimming, and screwing, our base plate was installed securely into the support nogs below the decking. Then the team lifted in the frames and secured them off safely. The material was placed on top, and it was time to connect it all together—ready to open them up and see the wonderful shade and shelter this dual umbrella can provide!

A few test runs up and down ensured everything was working correctly and to our satisfaction. Then we showed Maxine how it all works and how to store and maintain her wonderful new purchase.

Step 5
A detailed aftercare guide is supplied with all our umbrellas. So, after a demonstration and walkthrough of how it all works was complete, all that was left was to clean up and place the weatherproof covers that come with it.

A job well done and a happy customer! Now it’s time for Maxine and her family to enjoy that wonderful view with some extra shade for summer!
