Stunning Outdoor Room Pergola Transformation in Rural Whangarei
Nestled in the picturesque outskirts of Whangarei, this rural home sought an elegant solution to extend its outdoor entertaining area without obstructing stunning countryside views. Faced with the challenge of an existing apex roof, the Shadeland team delivered an innovative solution: a beautifully designed 7m by 4m reverse pitch tinted polycarbonate pergola that perfectly integrates beneath the home's apex eave.
A key challenge was ensuring effective water drainage from the reverse pitch roof back toward the house. Shadeland resolved this elegantly with custom aluminium flashing, expertly directing rainwater from the home's apex weatherboards directly into the pergola's built-in aluminium extrusion. The downpipe was discreetly positioned beneath the decking, efficiently channeling water to the stormwater system, maintaining a clean and seamless aesthetic.
Enhancing this outdoor room further, Shadeland installed premium Ziptrak blinds using Urban Marble Extreme fabric, paired with tailored side infill panels. Both pergola structure and blinds were meticulously powder-coated in Karaka Green, harmonizing beautifully with the surrounding natural environment.
This exceptional outdoor room and pergola project resulted in a sophisticated and functional space, dramatically enhancing the indoor-outdoor flow while preserving captivating rural views. The delighted homeowners praised the craftsmanship and attention to detail, making this one of Shadeland's proudest Whangarei installations.
