A Fully Enclosed Outdoor Space with Pergola, Blinds & Infill
Full Outdoor Space with a Pergola, Blinds & Infill
A key part of this project was planning ahead. From the outset, this pergola was designed to accommodate future additions, including blinds and infill panels.
Getting the measurements right at this stage was critical, ensuring that every component would integrate seamlessly later on. This forward thinking approach allows the finished space to feel cohesive and purpose built.
Balancing Shade and Natural Light
The customer wanted a space that was well shaded without feeling closed in or dark.
To achieve this, we installed opaque roofing sheets. These provide excellent protection from harsh sunlight and heat, while still allowing soft, diffused natural light to filter through. The result is a comfortable, bright outdoor area that can be enjoyed throughout the day.
Seamless Gutter Integration
Functionality is just as important as appearance. We connected the pergola guttering directly into the home’s existing system, allowing for smooth and efficient water runoff.
This not only improves performance during heavy rain but also creates a clean, integrated finish that enhances the overall look of the structure.
Shade Track Pro Blinds Installation
To further enhance comfort and usability, we installed four Shade Track Pro blinds.
Finished in a modern grey mesh, these blinds complement the home’s exterior while offering flexible protection from sun, wind, and rain. Easy to operate, they allow the customer to adjust their level of shade and shelter as needed, ideal for Northland’s ever changing conditions.
Completing the Space with Infill Panels
The final stage of the project involved installing infill sheets around the pergola and blind system.
These panels create a more enclosed environment, adding another layer of protection from the elements while enhancing privacy. Combined with the pergola and blinds, they transform the space into a versatile outdoor area that can be enjoyed in all seasons.
The End Result
By designing the pergola with future additions in mind, we were able to deliver a seamless combination of structure, blinds, and infills. The result is a modern, functional outdoor space that provides excellent shade, weather protection, and visual appeal perfectly suited to the Northland lifestyle.
