Step by Step: Choosing the Right Blinds for a Newly Renovated Home in Ngunguru

Renovating a home involves many design decisions, and window furnishings play a big part in bringing everything together. For this Ngunguru project, the goal was to keep things simple, modern, and practical, while matching the fresh new look of the home. Here’s how we approached it step by step.

Step 1: Understanding the Customer’s Vision

The customer was renovating their home and wanted blinds that would suit the updated interior without overpowering the space. They were looking for something clean, simple, and functional, with colours that would blend in beautifully with the lighter tones used throughout the renovation.

Step 2: Selecting a Simple, Modern Blind Style

To match the home’s refreshed look, we chose roller blinds throughout the house. Roller blinds were the ideal option because they offer a neat, streamlined finish and work well in both private and shared living spaces.

Step 3: Choosing Blackout Blinds for Bedrooms and Office

The next step was deciding which rooms needed more light control. For the bedrooms and office, blackout roller blinds were the best fit. These provide excellent privacy and help block out unwanted light, making the bedrooms more restful and the office more comfortable for working during the day.

Step 4: Using Light Filtering Blinds in the Living Areas

For the living spaces, the customer wanted to maintain a bright and welcoming feel. In these areas, we installed light filtering roller blinds. This allowed natural light to still come through while softening glare and adding privacy.

Step 5: Creating a Custom Solution for the Larger Living Room Window

One of the more unique parts of this project was a larger window in the living room. To make this space more versatile, we installed a special double roller blind. This created a half-and-half effect, giving the customer more flexibility to control light and privacy across the larger window.

Step 6: Matching the Blinds to the Renovation Colour Palette

To complete the look, we selected a light colour for the blinds so they would work seamlessly with the rest of the renovation. The soft tone helped keep the overall finish bright, fresh, and cohesive.

Step 7: Achieving a Practical and Stylish Result

By carefully choosing the right blind type for each room, the finished result suited both the style of the renovation and the practical needs of everyday living. The bedrooms and office now have privacy and darkness where needed, while the living areas remain soft, light, and inviting.

This Ngunguru renovation is a great example of how a simple blind choice, when planned properly, can make a big difference to the overall feel and function of a home.
